Music Instructor

I have been teaching in Kemptville for the past eighteen years and have been studying piano for the past thirty years.

I began learning the piano at the age of six! In 1997, I acquired a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Ottawa. I was very fortunate to have studied with wonderful and talented instructors including: Andrew Tunis who tutored me in Piano and Accompaniment throughout my degree, Dave Hildinger, who inspired me with his Commercial Arranging course and Jazz Piano lessons. One of the most beneficial and practical courses I took while in University was Piano Pedagogy with Professor Cynthia Floyd, who taught me the skills I needed to become a competent and sensitive music teacher.

Another part of my degree led me to take a course in ORFF pedagogy and I was so inspired by the philosophy that I continued taking ORFF courses at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto until I obtained my specialization certificate in 1997. I have since taken additional courses in Early Childhood Music Education. Studying Jazz piano with talented and local Jazz pianist Yves Laroche at The Bell's Corners Academy of Music, has rounded out my musical training.
